Aaron Van Hooser, PhD

Sr. Director, Computational Biology

Aaron is Head of Computational Biology at Sensorium Therapeutics, where he is overseeing creation of a predictive analytics platform to identify novel, naturally derived drug candidates from a vast wealth of ethnobotanical knowledge combined with proprietary neuroimaging data. Aaron has a passion for extracting valuable insights from complex molecular data relevant to patient stratification, disease sub-typing, and target identification. He joined Sensorium with over a decade of industry experience applying computational analytics, particularly machine learning and causal reasoning, to NGS, proteomics, and metabolomics data; and crafting impactful scientific presentations for diverse audiences. Prior to joining Sensorium, he was Director of Computational Biology at Korro Bio and PatientsLikeMe. Other professional experience includes consulting with leading biotech and consumer product companies, including AstraZeneca, Biogen, Janssen, Regeneron, and Roche/Genentech, where he led projects in diverse therapeutic areas including chronic inflammatory disease, rare genetic disorders, and immuno-oncology. Aaron received his Ph.D. from Baylor College of Medicine.
