Scientist II

Monica Carrasco is a Scientist II at Sensorium Therapeutics, where she is leading the implementation of the neuronal neuroplasticity assays as well as supporting SENS-01 program biology with in vivo pharmacology. Previously she was an Associate Professor at University of Talca in Chile, she has extensive expertise in iPSC modeling and has focused much of her academic career on understanding the interaction of Neurons and glia in health and disease. She was trained in Tom Maniatis's lab at Columbia where she worked extensively with hiPSC models of ALS. Her PhD work focused on BDNF and GDNF in synaptic transmission in neurons, areas of biology we will be directly investigating in Sensorium Therapeutics.
